2012 Mazda 3

2012-Mazda-3-Front-Angle-View-Blue-Color2012 Mazda 3 has been made? debut in 2011 New York International Auto Show? with raised designs of exterior and interior more refined. 2012 Mazda 3 also is the first model in North America with fuel economy, innovative and technology-oriented performance, capable of reaching 40 mpg on the highway. The Mazda 3 models selling owned by Mazda in the world and has contributed nearly half of all Mazda sales in the United States, thus making the vehicle a prime candidate to introduce SKYACTIV to consumers who are looking for dynamic performance by combining fuel-saving and efficient.

2012-Mazda-3-Front-Top-View-Blue-Color"SKYACTIV not just machines, but the next generation of advanced vehicle performance and efficiency," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). "SKYACTIV realize the philosophy of the Mazda vehicle engineering is only a fun to drive, satisfying to own and environmentally responsible, and there is no better vehicle to start with the Mazda 3, one of the most interesting sport compact cars on the road."

2012-Mazda-3-Side-View-Blue-ColorRedesigned for model year 2010, the freshened 2012 Mazda 3 is Mazda's first application SKYACTIV technology in North America, get a brand new G-SKYACTIV SKYACTIV gasoline and drive the new manual and all-new auto-MT SKYACTIV six-speed six-speed. It also has a more sporty driving dynamics and comfortable interior space. Exterior design has been refined even more daring to express their opinions, in addition to new interior appointments, creating additional functionality without a touch-and-feel quality. Other safety features of a complete package.

Besides the engine Mazda 3? S engine when MZR 2.0-liter dual-overhead-cam 16-valve four-cylinder is all-new high-efficiency gasoline SKYACTIV-G direct-injection 2.0-liter. Mated with six-speed manual transmission standard or optional-MT SKYACTIV SKYACTIV-Drive transmission six-speed automatic, SKYACTIV will be available in both sedan and hatchback models. MZR 2.0-liter engine will continue to be available with five-speed manual as standard equipment today. MZR 2.0-liter model-fitted will also be available with five-times speed automatic as an option.

About 4.4 lighter than the 2.0-liter MZR engine now pound, 2.0-liter SKYACTIV adopt a multi-hole injectors to increase fuel spray characteristics, together with specially developed piston cavity forms that guarantee a shorter burning time and reduce the impact of power and torque of engine knocking. Pumping losses also decreased by using a dual sequential valve timing (S-VT).

2012 Mazda 3? Exterior appearance finally have a firmer impression with new and updated front fascia grille opening five points for both sedan and hatchback styles. characteristics of new designs including more finely sculpted forms around openings in the outer edge of the front bumper and round fog lamps (changed from the horizontal-range version of the current model).

2012-Mazda-3-Rear-Angle-View-Blue-Color
2012-Mazda-3-Rear-View-Blue-ColorMazda 3 sedan and hatchback models equipped with SKYACTIV-G gasoline engines will be further distinguished with exclusive elements, such as an all-new engine cover featuring a deep blue metallic paint finish with black sections along either side; headlamp units outfitted with a transparent blue ring around the center lens to emphasize the vehicle’s distinctive character; and a badge featuring a “SKYACTIV” logo against a clear-blue background.

Aerodynamics plays heavily to a vehicle’s carbon footprint. Improved aerodynamic performance yields greater fuel economy and further reduces CO2 emissions while also contributing to handling stability. With this in mind, the front bumper design was optimized, as were underbody parts, to more effectively streamline the flow of air traveling beneath the floor. The shape of the lower sections of the front bumper’s sides were redesigned to protrude forward and the fins beneath were made larger. This adjustment effectively distributes the flow of air hitting the engine compartment and the front tire deflector, suppressing turbulence in cooling the engine as well as along the sides of the body.

The interior design was no less re-imagined than the vehicle’s exterior, and was developed with the end goals of a more inviting cabin and higher quality feel. Beginning with the instrument panel – the largest landscape within the cabin – black is now used throughout the center stack and shift gate to provide an even bolder look. Also, silver-colored, satin-polished details were added to areas frequently operated by consumers, such as the outer rings of the three climate-control dial switches and the audio control panel, as well as the ventilation louvers on the center panel. In addition to creating a feeling of higher refinement, the silver-on-black color scheme further accentuates the location of these common controls and switches, which increases legibility and lessens the amount of time drivers take their eyes off the road, consequently reducing operating errors.

2012-Mazda-3-Interior-Cabin-ViewThe Multi Information Display (MID) and liquid crystal display (LCD) also received color adjustments, changing from the red text and graphics of the current model to an easier-to-read white. On the 2012 MAZDA SPEED 3, the silver touches also replace the current red-accented graphics and the silver decoration atop the shift knob has been removed. The entire shift knob on the MAZDASPEED3 is now leather-wrapped. The parking brake knob also is wrapped in genuine leather, establishing a unified coordination that lends the cockpit an even sportier air and gives the MAZDASPEED3 interior additional sophistication.

The sporty twin-meter design of the instrument cluster itself remains unchanged but is highlighted with new, continuous-lit white graphic meters, which provide better readability, even in bright daylight hours. Backlight colors also differ depending on the model: dynamic gray for standard and high trim levels and a red gradation for the MAZDASPEED3. SKYACTIV-equipped vehicles will feature a blue gradation backlight as well as white-graphic meter panels. Also offered will be a stylish shift knob adorned by satin-polish plating on the lower section and a silver ring-surrounded SKYACTIV-logoed plate on the upper part.

Mazda3 Hatchback Cars 2010

Mazda has officially taken the wraps off its five-door hatchback version of the redesigned Mazda3 at the Bologna Motor Show today. As you can see in the gallery of new high-res pics below, the Mazda3 five-door gets the same swoopy sheetmetal as its four-door brethren, including the super happy smiley front end face. What's new is an extended roofline that drops down at a steep angle to create a wagon-esque profile. With a D-pillar that kinks up at a swept back angle, the look is very similar to that of a Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix that's been stepped on by a giant. The new cargo capacity will no doubt be appreciated by families who can put every extra cubic foot to good use, and if the current generation Mazda3 is any indication, this will also be the basis for the Mazdaspeed model.

At the moment, all the specs for the new Mazda3 five-door hatchback are for the European market, so don't expect its new 2.2L and carryover 1.6L turbo diesel engines to be available in the U.S. Europeans will also have a choice of 1.6L and 2.0L gas engines, though we expect the U.S.-spec model to offer the same 2.0L and new 2.5L four-cylinder engines as the sedan. Check out the official press release from Mazda after the jump for more details and the high-res image gallery below for more shots of the new Mazda3 five-door hatchback

2011 Mazda Verisa

Mazda has subtly revised the Verisa crossover (MPV & SUV) for the Japanese market for the 2011 MY. Some may recognise the Verisa, that's because it underpins the 2002 Ford Fiesta/Fusion. The Verisa will still be sold alongside it’s younger sibling, the Demio (Mazda2 in overseas market).

The minor changes consist of new colours for both the fabric and leather seats, revised instrument panel that includes a fuel consumption gauge and an "eco-lamp" to support economical driving, restyled steel wheels and improved standard equipment on some model grades. Sales have already begun.

Main features of the refreshed Verisa

Design:

• The Verisa C features new Coral Brown fabric seats, which are brown in the middle and beige on the sides

• The Verisa L has new Cool Black leather seats with a black and sand-coloured two-tone design.

• To match the new seats, the Verisa L has a black and sand-coloured leather-wrapped steering wheel.

• Both grades have a newly designed instrument panel with blackout metres.

• Newly designed hub caps for both the 14” and 15” wheels.

Equipment:

• Automatic headlights and front rain sensing wipers (which automatically switch on according to ambient conditions), and water-repellent coating (on the front door windows and door mirrors) are standard equipment on the Verisa L grade.

• A fuel consumption gauge (showing average fuel consumption) and an eco-lamp have been added to the instrument panel on all model grades.

New Mazda Taiki

Mazda unveiled their latest concept car today for journalists touring their Yokohama, Japan, facilities. The Mazda Taiki follows in the path of Mazda’s “flow” design concept with elements of real-world technologies
.
The Taiki is equipped with a next-generation RENESIS rotary engine under the hood, which Mazda claims “sets new standards for environmental and driving performance.” Mazda’s rear-wheel-drive concept is a two-seater inside a body that looks light as air.

Not surprisingly, the nose of the Taiki is similar to previous Mazda concept Ryuga. The new car also looks to be a more refined sibling of the Nagare concept. Both the Ryuga and Nagare were introduced under the “flow” design banner.

The Japanese word “Taiki” roughly translates to atmosphere. Mazda used this name to equate the car’s stretched cabin, short overhangs, and glass canopy with the “protective mantle” around Earth.

New Mazda Taiki ConceptOne of the key differences from previous concept cars is the Taiki’s rear wheels, which seem to stick out a bit, and are covered by a sort-of simulated wheel well. The effect of this is the illusion that the rear wheels are not protected as part of the chassis, but if you look at a picture of the car from behind the wheels look more integrated.
The inspiration behind Taiki’s exterior came from the idea of two floating Hagoromo, “the flowing robes that enable a celestial maiden to fly in Japanese legend,” states the press release. When thinking about the interior, designers looked to the Japanese koinobori carp streamers, and decided to try and create a space depicting the flowing wind.

The Taiki will be debuted to the public at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.
New Mazda Taiki ConceptNew Mazda Taiki ConceptMazda also introduced the Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid, which the company claims gets 40% better output compared to the RX-8 Hydrogen RE. The end result is faster acceleration and a fuel range of roughly 200 km (124 mi). Five adults should be able to sit comfortably into this hydrogen/gas hybrid.

The Premacy has a rotary engine that rests in a transverse layout, intake/exhaust resistance and combustion efficiency seeing solid output at different engine speed. Ultimately, the car is believed to have a quick responsiveness along with high energy efficiency.

The car also has a lithium-ion battery that recharges from the car’s braking, and is used for the car’s electric motor. The electric motor also derives power from the rotary engine.

Although the engine runs on hydrogen, it can be switched to gas when the hydrogen runs out.
The Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid will be available in Japan next year, at a leasing cost of around $3,500 per month. The car is being targeted towards government and ecological agencies. It will also see its public debut at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The Taiki and Premacy are another step in an awfully busy period for Mazda. The brand new Mazda Atenza was just introduced at Frankfurt, with expectations to be available for order soon. Atenza comes as either a four-door sedan, five-door sport hatchback, or sport wagon, and is expected to be more economical. This despite its 2.5litre engine that supposedly provides more torque, more response, and more acceleration.

2010 Mazda CX-9

Mazda CX9 (2010) has been inaugurated at New York International Auto Show. 2010 Mazda CX9 may output 273 hp at 6250 rpm and 270 lb-ft of maximum torque at 4250 rpm, because it is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine mated to an Aisin six-speed transmission-given Sport AT automatic with manual-mode.

Mazda CX9 (2010) equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), a Traction Control System (TCS), ABS and EBD.

2010 Mazda CX9 is equipped with a list of equipment including 4.3-inch color LCD screen full of new, two-stage seat heaters, climate control newly developed, and Advanced keyless entry and start system fob key system.

Self-POWER, REFINED PERFORMANCE

The 2010 Mazda CX-9 is powered by the engine 273 horsepower 3.7-liter V6, making the most complex searches easy and enjoyable as possible. Short-stroke 60-degree V6 is state-of-the-art-all. Advanced features including die-cast aluminum block with cast-in iron cylinder liners and aluminum cylinder heads for minimal weight. valvetrain includes chain-driven overhead camshafts dual for minimal maintenance, four valves-per-cylinder with bucket-type actuators directly acting, and variable intake valve timing. A high 10.3:1 compression ratio maximizes efficiency and power output while the throttle is electronically controlled for instantaneous response. Two close-coupled catalytic converters cleanse the exhaust without inhibiting power.

Computer-assisted analysis of a wide-technique is used to configure the cylinder block casting, to shape intake and exhaust ports, and to design a high volume exhaust system fitted with three large mufflers. Very low back pressure is one reason why the power curve was still rising at the 6500-rpm redline. In addition, forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hard journal, full of the counterweights. Engineering details even extend to the cam-drive sprocket roller chain with rubber coated for quiet operation.

A peak power of 273 horsepower at 6250 rpm to give the Mazda CX-9 with sparkling accelerating and passing performance. -Ft of torque curve continues to 250 pounds from 3000 to 6000 rpm and peaks with 270 lb-ft at 4250 rpm.

To combine excellent acceleration and high fuel mileage, Mazda CX-9, including a six-speed Aisin-awarded Sport AT automatic transmission with manual mode as standard equipment. area ratios maximize flexibility by providing enthusiastic launch acceleration with quiet cruising. Both the second overdrive gear ratio.

Front-wheel drive is standard on the Mazda CX-9 for excellent drivability, with Mazda's Active Torque All-Wheel Drive optionally available. Also used in the Mazda CX-7 crossover SUV, the system is changing rapidly adjust traction needs by monitoring wheel slippage, steering angle, yaw rate, lateral acceleration and available driveline torque. In normal driving, 100-percent of the torque sent to front-wheel drive. During the acceleration of aggressive or when one front wheel is on the verge of slip, controlled percentage of the available torque is directed to the rear axle.

A power take-off device integrated with the transaxle Mazda CX-9's spins a drive shaft attached to an active coupling built into the rear differential. Instructed by the control module, multi-plate clutch servo can be controlled routes from zero to 50 percent of available torque to the rear wheels.

CHASSIS ENGINEERED FOR SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE

The Mazda CX-9 has received the U.S. government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highest possible ratings in frontal and side impact crashes - five stars. In addition, both the FWD and AWD versions of the Mazda CX-9 received four-star rollover resistance ratings. With five stars to back it up, it comes as no surprise that Mazda’s advanced engineering provides Mazda CX-9 with one of the safest unibodies on the market.

Guiding development principles are:

Front frame rails that are large in section and as straight as possible.
A front subframe (supporting the powertrain, suspension, and steering equipment) attached to the unibody at six widely separated points. A forward extension integral to the subframe helps it to more effectively absorb collision energy.
B-pillars securely anchored to members in the floor and rocker areas with increased cross-section for all load-bearing members.
Rear frame rails positioned higher and configured as straight as possible.
Bumper reinforcement manufactured using a hot-stamping technique.
More than a dozen structural members in the floor and roof pillars made of high-tensile steel. Multiple steel reinforcements in the roof and a triple-H-shaped floor structure help absorb side-impact energy.
A fuel tank positioned near the middle of the vehicle and surrounded by multiple torque box crossmembers. Maximum overlap between the doors and the unibody to minimize side-impact intrusion. Energy absorbing material on front and rear door trim diminishes the transfer of impact loads to occupants.
Spot welds, laser welding in high-stress areas, and weld bonding (combination of welding and structural adhesives) to improve unibody stiffness.
Acoustical foam filler applied to internal cavities to block noise transmission from underbody into cabin areas.
Highly rigid damping sheet applied to large expanses of the floor pan to eliminate resonance and to block road noise.

For Mazda CX-9 to wear the Mazda brand symbol, it had to be more than just another crossover SUV. It had to be a true Mazda, embodying the company’s philosophy “Soul of a Sports Car.” And so engineers determined Mazda CX-9 had to have an independent suspension on all four corners.

In front, the perimeter frame mounted to the unibody through six rubber isolators supports the powertrain, the engine-speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion power steering, and a low friction strut-type suspension system using coil springs. The multilink rear suspension consists of one trailing arm and three lateral locating links per side. To minimize cargo-compartment intrusion and permit a wider load space, the rear coil spring is positioned between the lower lateral links and the unibody. A damper is located as close as possible to each rear wheel to provide excellent motion control with minimal friction. Anti-roll bars at each end maximize agility and control during assertive driving.

Twenty-inch, V-rated, low-profile radial tires (P245/50R-20) are standard equipment on the top Grand Touring model while Sport and Touring editions roll on P245/60R-18 tires. As a result, Mazda CX-9 looks and feels unusually nimble for its size and is the clear class leader for driving pleasure.

EYES IN THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD

The Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system supports the driver when changing lanes on roads and highways. At speeds of 20 mph or more, the system monitors areas on both sides of the vehicle to the rear. When a vehicle enters the detection area on either side, the BSM notifies the driver by illuminating a warning light located in the door mirror in the same side. If the driver then activates the turn signal, indicating a move in the same direction, the warning light will flash and the system will also sound an audible alert to immediately inform the driver of the potential danger in changing lanes.

ROOM ENOUGH FOR THEIR CHILDREN AND FRIENDS

Mazda CX-9 rides on 113.2-inch wheelbase, one of the longest in this segment, providing easy access to three rows of seating. There is plenty of room for adults in every position and enough cargo space to accommodate modern American families. Under the sleek exterior is an interior that will impress demanding customers with its space, utility, versatility, and premium features.

For ease of accommodations for all drivers, the driver's seat and steering column move quickly and easily with a long range adjustment. 60-40 split second row with three in comfort and offers approximately five-inches of travel slides lengthwise and lay back. In the third row 50-50 split-position seat and foot space is one of the leaders in class in numbers and real comfort. Log into the third row is easy, with access to almost 26 inches of space between the second row seats folded and the C-pillars. Even with the third row occupied, the Mazda CX-9 provides 17.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity, eclipsing many large sedan trunks. Both the second and third-row seats fold flat to allow additional storage all the way up to the rear of the front seat.

Extra thought is invested in small details, like how the release of the Mazda CX-9 seats are configured. For example, to release second-row seat to enter the third row requires only one simple hand motion to unlatch the seat and move forward. Similarly, a clever strap attached behind the third row seat backrest serves as both a release for folding chairs and means of pulling back upright again.

SAFETY WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

Safety features Mazda CX-9 is highlighted by advanced Roll Stability Control (RSC) system that uses both body-roll rate and the wheel speed sensors to determine when corrective action is required. Instantaneous torque decline, combined with an automatic brake application, helping to restore the Mazda CX-9 for the balance.

Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes including Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) to prevent the use of prison during an emergency. Dual-caliper front brake pistons operate together with a 12.6-inch ventilated rotors with diameter of 1.1 inches thick. single piston rear calipers squeeze 12.8-inch diameter by 0.71-inch thick rotors, also ventilated. Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) control the distribution front-to-rear braking force to take full advantage of available traction during stops. In the event the driver applies the brakes quickly in an emergency but with sufficient force to perform the function of ABS, brake assist takes over the function to stop the vehicle as soon as possible. To provide drivers with a confident feel during stops, the system of the Mazda CX-9's braking an extra-rigid so that deceleration is more directly proportional to pedal pressure than pedal travel. Benefit with a more linear response enhanced controllability.

When excessive wheel slippage is detected, a Traction Control System (TCS) automatically reduces driveline torque to help restore traction. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) reduces driveline torque and automatically applies one or more brakes to minimize under or over-steer during emergency maneuvers.

Protection is provided by the party-curtain airbags, active sensors, which extend from first to third line. This restriction inflatable lateral spreading in a collision or a rollover to reduce the chance of injury and limb or head ejection. Inflation is maintained for about six seconds for maximum effectiveness, although the only way this system works well is when used in combination with seatbelts. Pretensioner devices automatically remove slack from the belt system immediately after the collision moderate or greater frontal and load limiters are incorporated to provide some give as the occupant moves forward. The front headrests Mazda CX-9's include new design features, which are designed primarily to reduce neck injuries during rear impacts.

Mazda CX-9 strong unibody uses the Mazda Advanced Impact-energy Distribution and Absorption System to help protect the cabin from deformation in case of danger of collision.

The combination of large parts, some of which are made of high tensile steel, envelope the passenger compartment to absorb impact energy while guard against interference.

New Mazda5 Previewed - forced to wear the new look

New Mazda5 Previewed - forced to wear the new look

New Mazda5 Previewed
This is a case of when, not if. With the entire Mazda range adopting the big smiley corporate face, it was only a matter of time before the Mazda5 (Premacy in some markets) was forced to wear the new look. Like what you see?
The new Mazda5 will be unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March. Embracing “dynamic and elegant Nagare design”, it emits about 15 per cent less CO2 than the current model thanks to Mazda’s “i-stop” system, a new 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine (paired with a six-speed manual for Europe) plus other measures. The Hiroshima based carmaker also claims a more comfortable ride, perhaps by retuning the suspension.
Mazda says that the 5 is the first production model to fully adopt its Nagare design language. Besides the Mazda3 style front end, there are other familiar Mazda cues such as the sculpted wheelarches, but the MPV’s flanks get wavy lines only seen on Mazda’s concepts prior to this. Nagare means flow in Japanese, and there’s certainly plenty of flow in the shape of the new 5. Inside, the dashboard design mimics the 3 and is more driver centric now.

Mazda MX-5

MSRP: $21,750 - $29,290
To some reviewers the 2009 Mazda MX-5 ’s style is neither butch nor muscular. The New York Times says, “It doesn’t have side pipes or a hood scoop or a name that conjures images of bloodlust and rage.” In fact, Car and Driver calls it a “cutie pie,” though Edmunds returns some dignity when it reports that the Miata has “more aggressive styling, without bumping up the price or diluting its perky personality.”
Jalopnik says it "resembles a lightweight power lifter" and describes it as follows: "flared wheel arches rising out of the hood and the trunk, aggressive swells around the headlights and dual pipes poking out of a chiseled, muscular derriere." Cars.com points out that this version of the Miata “retains the fixed headlights but returns somewhat to the original shape, with fewer curves—except for the accentuated wheel arches that recall the 2009 Mazda MX-5
The 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata is available in two models: a soft-top roadster and a Power Retractable Hard Top model. The hardtop edition is good-looking too; Car and Driver says, “raised, the body-color bubble looks stubbier than the soft-top but is still attractive.”
Inside the 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata’s cabin, the seat shape is refined for better comfort and lateral support. The center console has more flexible storage, and a padded armrest provides better comfort. “The interior is highlighted with chrome and silver accents, and the driver faces a three-spoke tilt steering wheel,” Cars.com notes of its test car. “The $515 interior trim package,” according to the New York Times, “consists of a few bits of ‘aluminum look’ trim on the door panels and dashboard. Mind you, this isn’t aluminum trim—it’s plastic. For that price, on a per-ounce basis, I’d think you could trim your doors and dash in anything from titanium to sashimi-grade tuna belly.”2009 Mazda MX-5
